William Joseph - Radioactive

I've fangirled over William Joseph before. He is a phenomenal musician. I've also fangirled about Imagine Dragons here before as well. So when William covers an Imagine Dragons song I'm a very, very happy fangirl. This is gorgeous!!

Unbreakable by Kami Garcia

I never believed in ghosts. Until one tried to kill me.
When Kennedy Waters finds her mother dead, she doesn't realize paranormal forces are responsible—not until mysterious identical twins Jared and Lukas Lockhart break into her room and destroy a deadly spirit sent to kill her.
Kennedy learns that her mother’s death was no accident, and now Kennedy has to take her place in the Legion of the Black Dove—a secret society of ghost hunters formed to protect the world from a vengeful demon. A society whose five members were all murdered on the same night, leaving the Legion in the hands of the next generation: a misfit group with unique skills.
As the new members race to find the only weapon capable of destroying the demon, each uses their individual skills to battle paranormal entities and earn their rightful place in the Legion—except for Kennedy.
If she is truly the missing piece of the puzzle, can she stay alive long enough to find out—without losing her heart in the process?
Protect yourself.
What you can’t see can hurt you.
Unbreakable by Kami Garcia grabs you in the very first chapter and does not let you go until the very end. Because this is the first of a trilogy it doesn't really even let you go then.

There are a few things you need to know about me before I review this book. I am a complete wuss. I don't watch scary movies, I don't go to haunted houses, I even get creeped out my slightly scary TV shows (Sleepy Hollow, I'm looking at you.). I also live in a basement apartment with my cat as my only roommate. And the third factor in this scenario is that my only reading time is late at night.

Now that you know those things, you should know that I briefly thought about not finishing this book after the first chapter because it's creepy. But I was already intrigued and I'm a fan of Kami so I put on my big girl panties and continued reading.

I'm so glad I did! This book is so good!!! It is a non-stop, edge of your seat, kick-butt story! What I loved about the book was while it was a ghost hunting, scare the daylights out of me kind of book, it is still a story of self discovery. It's a journey that Kennedy is just getting started on and I really look forward to taking that journey with her in the next two books.

If you're one of those people that likes creepy and scary books, this is the book for you. If you're like me and not normally a fan of spooky, I still recommend you give this book a chance, it's worth it!
